Review (April 2016)

Having a car battery die on you unexpectedly can be stressful, often leaving you stranded in places where it's not always easy to get help. It has happened to me more often than normal this year and it never seems to occur at a convenient time. Luckily, portable jump starters have become popular over the years and with the improvements made in battery technology, these systems are much smaller and easier to manage than earlier designs.
A company called 1byone is offering their Multi-Function Jump Starter, a powerful design with a 16,000mAH battery. While the capacity is not the same as your vehicle's battery, it's usually enough to get you out of a tight spot, so you can get back on the road and find a place to get battery replacement without having to call someone for help.
There is also a standard micro USB power port that can used to charge the unit. When charging, the unit flashes "IN" on the display along with the power level in percent. The Multi-Function Jump Starter also includes a USB power port for charging devices such as cell phones. The unit measures approximately 6.25" x 3.5" x 1.5" making it easy to store in small compartments. It's similar in size to my Samsung S5 phone in an Otterbox case, just a lot thicker.
